The first cultural heritage and digital humanities orientated hackathon in Lithuania inspired byEUROPEANA  (the biggest multi-lingual online collection of digitized cultural heritage) andDARIAH  (Digital Research Infrustructure for Arts and Humanities) and organized by Vilnius University Faculty of Communication (VUFC ) and Vilnius University Library (VUL ).

The goal of the PATCH2012MM workshop is to gather researchers and practitioners from different fields, e.g., multimedia retrieval, user interaction, arts and heritage curation, interface design and user modeling, in order to showcase novel applications and discuss opportunities that grow from the connections between users and multimedia systems in the cultural heritage domain.

The International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries is the successor of the European Conference on Research and Advanced Technology for Digital Libraries (ECDL). TPDL/ECDL has been the leading European scientific forum on digital libraries for 15 years. The conference continues to bring together researchers, developers, content providers and users in the field of digital libraries.
